The Cup

So reading John so far has brought some really cool thoughts about living real. In John 18:11, after Peter cuts off that there guys ear, Jesus tells him to put his sword away and asks “Shall I not drink the cup the Father has given me?” That’s so true. I think as Christians we need to take a long hard look at what our life is like. God has given us gifts, life, freedom, freewill. So why do we search for ways to make our life better and to become happier. The answer is right in front of us. Look to God and ask him for answers. But don’t sit back and wait go searching. Fast, pray, ask and God will answer. Maybe not right away but he will.

What i am trying to get at is that we look to everything but God for happiness. Some look to money, some to girls/boys, Some to drugs or alcohol, But why not to the Lord our God? I have decided to start living more real, to be different. Plus Jesus states that those who are different will be hated because they are not part of this world. Try looking to God for happiness and not this world. God never fails but the world does.

The shepherd and His Flock

In John 10:1-21 Jesus talks about how he is the good shepherd and the gate. He talks about how he is the gate that lets the sheep in and the good shepherd that protects the flock. Now I have been thinking about this a lot. We are the dum sheep that need guidance. Every now and then when the shepherd opens the gate to let us in we run form him and he chases after us. We try to lead our own life and go on our own path. But sometimes we fall in to holes that we cant get out of or the wolf comes to tear us apart. But Jesus is right there to fend off the wolf and to lift us out of the hole that we are stuck in. After he gets us out of the hole he guides us back to the gate and sometimes we start to wonder off but he reaches out and with his staff and points us in the right direction. The Lord is our guide and he would give his life for us. In fact he already did. The sheep even learn, through time, who the stranger is and who the owner is. So they run from the stranger and go to the owner.

So....What are you. Are you the sheep that is wondering in the pastures knowing that you cant live your life on your own but you are? Are you stuck in a hole or getting attacked by the wolf? If you are id like to let you know that the Lord is right behind you waiting for you to ask for help. To put your life in his hands and let him guide you back to him. All you have to do is ask. Yes its hard to obey because we love our worldly ways but if you let the Lord in your life it will change. Not right away but in time. In time you'll know what it is like to hate these worldly things that we love so much and to love God and put your life in him. So one thing I want to say is that if your lost then just pray and ask the Lord to guide you. Trust him...He knows what he is doing.

Mission Trip

I went on a mission trip to New Orleans this week. Man was it an eye opener. All the houses on all the streets have to be gutted and mainly rebuilt. Unless it was a two story house. Man it was so cool. I feel so at ease and at peace with God. I felt like we touched all the people we helped and even some that we didn’t help. Well it was cool. I enjoyed it and it made me look at my life and the way I live. I am going to live as though I have no time schedule and I’m going to help those who are in distress. No more, “I’m on my way to work or I’m busy. Check out some of the pictures.
In my reading of John I found a cool verse in chapter nine. Jesus heals a blind man and the people ask him if he had sinned and is that the reason he was blind. Well Jesus said that the reason the man was blind was so that he could work through him to reach others. Katrina has done the same. Yes it was a disaster and lives were lost. But I guarantee that lives have been saved. I have also learned not to worry about all my possessions and things. Ya know if they break or I lose them. I know now what people are feeling to lose everything. I just pray that those we reach will do the same and reach others.

One other thing, are you doing that. Are you reaching those who need it. Who need to find God. If not then you need to show how God works in your life. Stop for the person who has broken down or even the person that has a lot of groceries. Just stop and ask if they need help.

This is just a test.

Testing.

My car. Yes its a Ford.

Yes it looks wimpy but Im gonna lift it.
